I felt this too, when Faramir released them in Osgiliath, that Frodo had almost been hoping he would take the responsibility off his shoulders. One of the things that always resonates strongly with me was that Frodo made a choice, and he kept making it every single day and every step of the way, to keep going, and it was so hard and so painful. It's what irritates me when people say he's a wimp because he complains or he doesn't use his sword to fight back. Frodo fell. Then he got up. He was afraid. But he kept going. He was sick, starved, stripped of hope and memories. And he still kept going. It's what I love most about him. You've really written a powerful look at his possible feelings there at the Forbidden Pool.
