Happiness day 27: Scrabble

I just love playing Scrabble. I've enjoyed playing it with my family since I was a kid and I have great memories of playing late at night with my friends in our college dorm rooms. There is something so very satisfying about making a really good move, something that not everyone would have thought of. I really like winning but I also like it when the people I'm playing against do well. When we play with my family we never challenge each other's words – we let each other look up words in the dictionary ahead of time so that we can come up with really good ones.

I've mentioned before that the main reason I joined Facebook a few months ago was so that I could play the Scrabulous (which is pretty much the same game but not officially associated). Well, Scrabulous got kicked off Facebook last month but in a way that's even better because now I can play it at scrabulous.com and it doesn't matter whether the players have Facebook accounts or not. I've been playing with my brother for a few months and just started playing with [livejournal.com profile] shirebound and [livejournal.com profile] baranduin this week. If you'd like to play Scrabulous with me comment with your e-mail address or send me an e-mail (my username at gmail) and let me know whether you prefer the American or British wordlist, and I'll set up a game for us. You get an e-mail when it's your turn to make a move and you can go back to it whenever you want, so it doesn't matter if you don't have much time to play.

[livejournal.com profile] shirebound found this earlier tonight:
