Two fics you might possibly have missed:

A really lovely, sad but gentle ficlet by claudia603, Five Things Frodo Thought About As He Sailed.

A post-quest hobbitnapping featuring a sexy mature, clever, and confident Peregrin Took and some rough, smelly Minas Tirith ruffians, Pip-napped! by dreamflower02.

Also! The new concrit community workshoppers (LOTR rps, fps, and related fandoms) is up and running with its first challenge, dialogue fics. I didn't write anything for it but lots of talented people have and I'm sure they'd like to hear from you. Authors have chosen whether they want their entries to be public, locked to the community, or filtered to those participating in this particular exercise. That means, as moderator absolutefiction points out, that if you can see a fic you are welcome and encouraged to critique it. The fics are great fun and everyone seems to be playing very nicely in comments. Yay for Abfic and for our fandom(s).

You know, I did that post about maybe starting up a concrit comm a few months ago, and there was much talk about the danger of people's feelings getting hurt, or people signing up to play but then being really upset to get actual criticism... Well, it really seems to be going well over there and I am just so pleased. I hope I manage to come up with something for the next challenge.

Everyone that I've seen has been really friendly and laid back about things. I know Abfic's been wanting to do something like this for a long time and I'm really glad that it's turning out so well.
