I remember seeing Expectations posted on the comm and thinking, "Spock and Uhura and punishment, I'm there!" and then the fic was so different from what I expected that it left me kind of confused and didn't really work for me. However when I went back to read it out loud a couple months later I really felt for Uhura in it. Yay!
