dingsi made this post back in October, and since at least November I've been thinking that I would like to record it. I went and got permission back in December and everything. I tend to start crying whenever I read it though, and that makes reading out loud challenging. It also feels very weird to be speaking a personal message in first person when I'm not the one who wrote it, and I'm sure dingsi would emphasize different words and make a lot of different choices if he were reading it.

Still, here is this thing! I hope some of you find it helpful to listen to.

This is amazing. I feel like it's impolitic to say this, because I'm not trans, but it really spoke to me as well. People are who they are and they need to live it and the way they do it is right for them. There is no wrong way to be yourself. It's a very powerful message.

I remember reading this over the original journal, and loving it to pieces (<3<3, dingsi!), and saving it, but somehow I didn't revisit it often - in parts because just seeing that private bookmark reminded me of the text and cheered me already. This spoken version has been listened to once per night since I downloaded it several days ago. It's lovely, and there is a difference when something it said - heard compared to read, plus you did a great job with it, beyond managing not to cry (kudos!). Truthfully I'd gladly listen to an hour of this text read in a dozen voices put back to back, while for now I'm just as happy listening to you on this collaboration on loop. Thank you for recording editing and sharing this.
