Yeah, it's...I keep coming back to frustrating, because there really is a lot about the show that's great. I mean, nothing especially groundbreaking, but some scenes are just a real treat to watch, and other scenes are the opposite of that, and then often they're intercut so it's just like what. But the little discussion we were having about Top of the Lake a while back also helped me think about...like, there are ways a show can be "about" women getting murdered or about women and children being sexually abused, but not glorying in showing that happening. I wish this director didn't enjoy the showing so much.
