This is supposed to be a backdated entry with spoilers/warnings for my new post-quest AU, except that the backdating didn't work. >:|



Okay, it starts out with Sam dying in Mordor. I'm sorry! I didn't do this out of dislike for Sam, really. I was a Frodo/Sam girl at the time I started writing it, so this was just the angstiest thing I could do to Frodo. The death thing is not graphic or drawn out. It's all about how the other characters deal with it afterwards. Other characters might die later in the fic.

There is attempted noncon in chapter two but it doesn't get carried out.

There is a history of Frodo/Sam, Sam/Rosie, and (earlier) Frodo/Merry and Frodo/Merry/Pippin. Within the timeframe of the story there is Merry/Pippin and, yes, eventually Frodo/Rosie, but not very much explicitness. There are a few other pairings mentioned.

Mostly it is about grown-up hobbits being sad, but it is a lot more hopeful and loving than the other long fic I wrote. There is comfort to go with the hurt. Please let me know if you have other questions. You can also e-mail me at sophinisba at gmail.com.

aww Sam dies? :( that is indeed very sad. :*(He's my favorite hobbit (along with Frodo) WIth your pairings, is it more platonic or is it really "more than friends" type of deal?
your story is on my to-read list.. i love angst.. but Sam dying is sad. :(

Sam dying was the saddest thing I could think of back when I was a Frodo/Sam fan, and that was when I started writing this! I don't know how it would be to read as a Sam fan. Everyone in the fic loves Sam, and Rosie and Frodo have both had "more than friends" type relationships with him, so that's adding to their grief. The pairings are really pairings and there's some het sex later on in the fic, but most of it is just conversations between grown-ups. There's also some hurt/comfort.

I've read some of your other stuff and I know you are talented but Frodo/Rosie??? Just the idea of that pairing seems so wrong to me. Friends sure but lovers I can't see that at all.
