I hadn't seen a 3D movie before either! The 3D glasses were huge, went right in front of my normal glasses. It took a little getting used to and I guess I'm glad it wasn't the whole movie, but it was definitely very cool for those big scenes.
The only book that's made me cry is the last one, but that's also the only one I've read really quickly, getting absorbed in the book and not thinking about anything else for a few days. I did cry the second time I watched PoA -- the part with the Patronus at the end makes me so proud of Harry and so sad for him at the same time.
I really am impressed with Dan's acting in the new movie. I watched GoF again this week and I didn't find him nearly as convincing in that, though I liked that movie too for the most part. I thought all three of the main young actors were a lot better in the new one, and Harry with his controlled rage, damn, I just loved watching that, whereas if he'd been shouting all the time I don't think I'd have liked him or the movie nearly as much.
