Thank you for providing a streaming link as well: with nowhere to download podfic to, I rarely get a chance to listen, so it's exciting to have the opportunity to hear you read! A delight.

(I more often treat your podfic as a link, and have read some excellent stories as a result of your good taste.)

Ah, that's good to know. It took me longer to get the streaming embed to work than it did to make this podfic and then nobody commented so I had sort of felt like it was a waste of time. A lot of times I can't get the embed to work, especially in the LJ comments where I was trying to post this, but it is usually pretty easy to post a link to a streaming version, and I include streaming links with most of my shorter ones. I'll try to keep doing that despite the technical difficulties. :)

Can you see whether your streaming links have been listened to?
Don't feel obliged to stream them just for me (!) but I'd be surprised if I'm the only one for whom streaming is a good option. I do love the embedded players, it's nice not to go elsewhere to listen.
I didn't manage to listen to your streamed Kink Bingo ramp up discussion with yue-Ix: is there a link to the streaming of that, or did it not work out? No worries if it wasn't working - don't go to any effort for me - but if I can pick it up off-site and it was just the embedding not working, I'd love to hear. If not, I can read the transcription.

I think part of the problem is that people often put malicious content in embedded media, so websites have tried blocking that in different ways, and it keeps changing in unpredictable ways. There seem to be different rules for how to do things in Dreamwidth entries, Dreamwidth comments, LJ entries, and LJ comments, and sometimes it'll work properly for some people and not for others, or it'll work for everyone for a while and then stop working. And all the different options involve getting accounts and uploading the material to different hosting/sharing services, so it does tend to take some extra effort. I've mostly heard podficcers talk about it as a way of making things more convenient for listeners but I didn't realize that some people could only listen to streaming audio and couldn't download at all. Is the problem that you're using a shared or public computer?

The embedded streaming player on the podcast post at kink_bingo> does work for me, so I'm not sure what the problem is there. If you click on the link that says "download it as an mp3" that should also work to open it up in a webpage and stream it there. If that doesn't work, maybe try opening it in a different browser?

Sounds complex - thanks for persevering with it, but I rarely listen rather than read, so don't stick with it on my account only.
I share my computer and phone - particularly audio (music and podcast) files - with my youngish children, and I've not figured out how to stash audio files in a separate area out of their reach. I had your podfic of "Little Wooden Boy" DLed once (for a long walk), and they were delighted to spot a Merlin story! Nooooo. :)

That worked - clicking on the download link gave me the stream too. It may be my browser causing the glitch. Thank you.

You are a delight to listen to, clearly enjoy what you do, and make clear and clean recordings that are a pleasure. Thank you for taking so much trouble to create something so lovely.

Okay, thanks, this is really helpful for me to know! I'll keep trying to figure out something that's easier to use. In the past I haven't bothered to do streaming for longer podfics because I didn't figure anyone would want to sit and listen to them at the computer, so it's good for me to be aware of different people's situations. Anyway the couple things I'm working on are short so I'll definitely have streaming links for those.
