Snow!

I think this is going to be a spammy day for me on LJ (not to mention IJ and GJ)! I'm sorry to say that I have no fic to post, but I do have four documents with partially written entries on them and a bunch of other things I want to talk about. I'm feeling very settled and cozy here in bed with my laptop and blankets, but I just realized that at some point I should really go out and shovel the steps. :(

I got up to go out just after making that post but then I realized that my winter boots were in a storage space that happens to be the very coldest part of the apartment, so I had an excuse to wait a little while longer while I warmed them up by the radiator. :D I went out a little while ago though and it actually wasn't all that bad. The snow is fluffy and not very wet or heavy or packed down. The sun is behind clouds but it hasn't set yet, and the wind isn't very strong, so it wasn't all that cold.

I've decided to cut my hair! I'm going to cut off twelve inches or so so I can send it to Locks of Love. Then it'll still be long enough to cover my neck (and give me that extra layer of warmth for the winter!) but not so long that it causes problems with hats and scarves and coats and hoods and static electricity the way it's been doing lately. Whoo!

OMG!!!! (Just so you know, Beautiful Lengths I think is the charity that actually makes wigs for cancer patients...I believe Locks of Love does it for people with a certain scalp condition that makes them lose hair?? In case it matters to you what your hair might be used for)...you and I might have the same length hair then by summer! :D Mine is just at shoulder length now! :D

Thank you for mentioning that! I hadn't heard of Beautiful Lengths before and that also seems like a very good thing. I think I'm going to go with LoL (hee!) though because they get four stars from Charity Navigator. The wigs don't go to cancer patients but they do go to kids with hair loss.

Yup, it is very pretty and I'd be happy for it if not for the shoveling. Even that wasn't too terrible on the first round, but looking head to next five months of it is a little frightening.

Well, I made a first pass at it, may leave the rest until tomorrow morning... but my roommate still needs to come home, so I supposed I should go out nad make a path for her at least.

You know, it's been a very pleasant day inside, and even when I went outside to shovel again this evening it was so pretty outside and not too cold. I hope this storm is gentle on you too.
