Yeah, it is difficult, knowing he won't be able to do as much as he'd like and even now he can't commit to policies that we would like and suspect he would probably want (glbt rights omg) because he can't be that far left and still get elected. And even though I like Biden it was kind of depressing today when some of the pundits were saying this pick was good because Biden is Irish Catholic and that will be reassuring to Democratic voters who "have trouble understanding where Barack Obama comes from" and it's like, what's underneath that is that he had to get a white guy on the ticket to reassure the racists in the party and arrrgh. And yet! It seems like he needs to do these things to get elected, and I really want him to get elected! It's not just a lesser-of-two-evils thing, for me at least, I really think he will make a good president, even if he can't do all the things I would like him to do. (I may delete this comment and write a shorter, blander one in a minute if I get too self-conscious, I don't know. ♥)
