The rules have been relaxed a little this year to allow RPF for the first time, and you can now qualify in a fandom by having written just seven drabbles. On the one hand I'm happy about this (and in fact I voted for the change) because it means more people can participate and I imagine it'll make matching easier for the mods. But then I think, what if some poor Doctor Who fan who is not into other fandoms gets assigned to me, and all she has to work with is a few drabbles? So I hesitated to even include that (and Firefly, and Merlin) among my qualifying fandoms but in the end I did, because that's what the directions said to do and because I wanted to make things easier for the mods. I did kind of wished there were a way of specifying which fandoms you're very remixable in and which ones you just barely qualify.
But then again, everybody who signs up to write knows going into it that they might get assigned to someone with just seven drabbles. And of course some drabbles can make great remix bases – last year![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
hyel chose to remix a drabble of mine (even though since we were matched on LotR she had plenty of other material to choose from), and that worked out fantastically. So, you know, it's probably fine.
