Remixes and other good news

[livejournal.com profile] browngirl, thank you for your postcard! It had just the intended effect!

Also, today is a beautiful day outside in real life. I went out for a short walk earlier but I should go for another. I've spent most of the day inside with my computer, partly because a new BSG disc came in the mail (yay!) but mostly occupied with mod business.

I started posting fics at [livejournal.com profile] remixthedrabble today! One post for Dresden Files, Good Omens, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, and Twilight and one for Horation Hornblower, Master and Commander, and Pirates of the Caribbean! Each remix exactly 100 words (unless someone counted wrong)! And although I've been fixating like an insecure person on the things that have gone wrong, it's probably mostly going well and I am happy that people are reading and commenting. I'll probably be doing a post or two every day through Thursday and my goodness it's nerve-wracking, but also exciting so yay.

And speaking of remixes, assignments for [livejournal.com profile] remixredux09 went out last night! I had a couple minutes of misunderstanding and panic and grumbling (thinking the matching had been done wrong) but then found a second fandom on the person's journal and calmed down. And once I started actually reading the person's fics I got really excited. I mean, they are really good and they also have really interesting gaps and room for playing around. And I get to choose between a relatively comfortable fandom and a scarier one that could be really interesting. We shall see! It's been a while since I finished anything over 1000 words and RemixRedux is always a good chance to stretch and try new things.
