writing meme
And now, a writing meme, gacked from
hyel:
Post the first line of a story here, and I'll write the next five. No context or prompts, just a line, and if I don't twig who it is then you'll get something slightly surreal back!
If you post the next up-to-five lines, I will try to keep it going.
An exception to the no-context rule is that I'd like warnings in the subject line for spoilers or consent issues. Let's do this, I think it'll be fun.
ETA: Feel free to jump in and write more on a thread started by someone else too. Stories can branch off in different directions. I'm just in the mood for playing around and writing collaboratively.

100 words omg! Spoilers for Merlin 1x12
She remembered manacles on her own wrists, remembered the wounds on her father's body, how she'd wept at the injustice of it then. This time she knew the charge of sorcery was justified, and still her heart wanted to break.
"Don't worry," Merlin whispered in Gwen's ear as he held her close, "don't worry, we'll get her out."

He dug carefully with the spade and then cleared the loose dirt away with his hands, not wanting to damage whatever he'd found. The box he pulled out of the ground was light, made of plain unpolished cherry wood, and had carved on the lid, Property of Lobelia Sackville-Baggins.
