Dreamwidth

I think I'm going to go ahead and copy my journal to Dreamwidth today and then start crossposting from there. LJ will still be my main journal because this is where most of my friends hang out.

I also think I'm going to make all my entries on InsaneJournal private and then stop updating there.

Anyone have any objections or advice?

There's the option of keeping imported comments private. Just for the record, I don't mind if you make my imported comments public.

There's a way to replicate your LJ style there, if you're interested.

Oh, that's good to know about the private comments. I think I will probably do that. The objections a couple people (no one on my f-list) had raised about importing comments were the main reason I was hesitating to import at all - I'd heard talk about them developing an option for openID users to screen all their comments but that doesn't seem to be happening.

It did not give me the option of keeping imported comments private. Is that something I can change now?

Hm, I guess that option is not available yet then. I heard that they were working on it.

Is there an option where you set all the imported entries private?

In the meantime, ask your F-list if anyone's against having their comments here? ^^;;

Yeah, I kind of figured they'd respond to the LJ version of this post if they had a problem, but there's also, you know, people who've commented before but don't have me friended now. I really don't think it's a big deal but I'm a little disappointed that Dth hasn't made those options available. Oh well.
