I love this post so much! I never thought about the sideways timeline being like wacky AUs, but it so totally is. And it is wonderful.
I loved the episode with Richard Alpert too. All the Spanish, and everybody who they cast really obviously was fluent and knew what they were saying and was able to act as well in English as they could in Spanish. It was so cool that Hurley was included in that too. It bugs me so much on TV when they're like "oh yeah this person totes is fluent in Spanish" and then the actor is clearly not when they have to speak it. Or like on Heroes where Maya and Alejandro always. Talked. Really. Slowly. To. Give. You. Plenty. Of. Time. To. Read. The. Subtitles.
