LJ and Facebook connect
LJ's just brought out a new "feature" that gives you the option of posting any or all of your LJ comments to Facebook or Twitter. This includes screened comments and comments to f-locked entries, so if I post about my job or my personal life and someone with that setting turned on comments, the subject of my post and a link to it will show up on their Facebook page without me even knowing about it. There's more information at the latest news post.
I am really, really not okay with this. I don't believe any of my LJ friends would intentionally violate my privacy this way (and I hope you won't crosspost your comments to my public entries either), but the way it's set up makes it way too easy to do by accident.
I'm going to start disabling LJ comments on my f-locked entries until this gets resolved. I'll update access on my Dreamwidth account so anyone who can see my posts on LJ should be able to comment on Dreamwidth with OpenID. If you're having trouble with OpenID, talk to me about it and/or check out
spn_bitesized's lovely Guide to Using OpenID. Let me know if you'd like a DW account creation code (I have lots) or if you have a DW account already and would like access there.
Sorry, LJ friends, I know a lot of you don't want to bother logging in to another account or using OpenID, but this situation is really freaking me out.
