I still don't quite think I have the hang of it like you do! :D But yes, it's way easier than having to change fonts...

If you click on the little file folder at the top it'll let you make those comments in the margins. :)

It is SO much easier than changing the font every time. And much easier to deal with post-beta too, with just right-clicking to accept or reject the changes.

It is one of the reasons I cannot beta. I KNOW the correct, I cringe at the incorrect, but after awhile I get sick to my stomach and actually nauseous from the contradictions and my brain being stripped slowly from shifting gears to correct and I cannot do that to myself anymore. I will never beta, I had hoped I could, to help in fandom a wee bit as a non-writer but alas, I cannot.

See, I think I'm quite good at noticing that stuff in other people's fic, it's just in my own that I get really sloppy sometimes. When I'm reading, mistakes like that tend not to bother me if I know that the author does know better and she's just made a mistake in her hurry to post or whatever, and I'll often send and e-mail or leave a comment about the typos. But if it's a consistent misuse it can really keep me from enjoying a fic. I especially have issues with commas and apostrophes. :)

I sometimes think stuff like that is just fingers working faster than brain...either that, or you can blame Titivullus. (He's the patron demon of scribes; he has to fill his quota of mistakes every day, and he's not above inducing them...)

Hee, I'd never heard of Titivullus before. That is a great theory. My explanation for what happened on this fic is that I was just letting the creativity flow. Thank goodness for my beta readers!

LOL! Titivullus is out there, believe me! I think he's a close kin to Murphy! Besides, it's always good to have someone else to blame things on, eh?

You know, when I was doing a lot of the writing of this fic I was trying hard to get over certain inhibitions, not censor myself and so on, so that might have had something to do with it too.

I'm having a lovely time in Chicago so far!! *hugs*
