Didn't we all do it at some point though? I mean, before I knew anything about fanfic it was totally my way of engaging with books and movies and bands I liked, to imagine myself, oh, not as the lover of our tragic hero, but as his friend and confidant. And of course my alter ego can relate to him better if she has her own obstacles to overcome and so on. Then I got here and found out this kind of thing was frowned upon, so I've tried to break the habit, but it's tricky.
By the way, am I the only one who tends to type "habbit" instead of "habit" now, as a result of typing "hobbit" so often?
