Fanlore
Yesterday I did some editing at Fanlore (the OTW wiki about fan history and cultures) for the first time in a few months. I did a bunch of editing back in the fall of last year and at the time there were a lot of other people working on subjects I was interested in, so when I felt like going in I would always just click on the Recent Changes page and go from there. These days though most of the edits are about zines, which I don't know anything about, so that doesn't work. Still, I was inspired by
facetofcathy's idea of keeping a Fanlore log on one's journal, since it's so hard to be social about it over there on the wiki (where for the most part you only get any feedback when you've done something wrong). Like even yesterday I was doing edits and then someone else was responding to them - fixing my mistakes and adding other content - and that was great, but I couldn't really figure out the space to say thank you.
Yesterday I added some content to the main Merlin page and a few of the LotR subpages about hobbits. If you read my journal maybe you're interested in some of the same fandoms, so you could check out my user contributions page to get links to what I've been working on. Fix my mistakes, fill in my outlines, or suggest new topics that needs to be added. You could do some editing yourself or tell me here about what you think should be done.
I'm leaving town tomorrow and won't be online much this next week, but I'm around today and happy to answer any questions you have...though I don't especially know what I'm doing either. :)
