Long reader’s notes on this one: Recording Srin's cordless drill/linen cabinet ficlet last week reminded me that I'd been meaning to record these two pieces, both of which were written in October 2009 (I believe both were first posted at camelot_fleet), before Merlin/Arthur's armour became established canon.

Here's the image I used for a podfic cover. It's from Morgause's first episode, "The Sins of the Father", which aired in November:



And of course fans of the pairing remember Merlin's speech to Arthur about why he needs to go with him to fight the Dragon in the series 2 finale:



"I know it's hard for you to understand how I feel but... Well, I care a hell of a lot about that armour. I'm not gonna let you mess it up." ♥ ♥

I feel like I should get some kind of kink_bingo credit for this, I mean, probably just for my free square, but I'm not exactly sure how to label it. It doesn't quite fit mechanical/technological, or locks/chains, or uniforms/military fetish...maybe pervertibles? What do you think?

This is the first time I've recorded two fics in one audio file. I tried to give it chapters but I'm not sure if it worked. The second fic starts three minutes in.

*flails* You are the most awesome. Hearing these ficlets together is like... destiny. Only a lot more fun, with less chance of getting lectured by a dragon.

It's amazing, I wasn't expecting to get emotional listening to my own writing, but by the end I was just so caught up in worrying about the armour's plight, and whether Merlin was going to leave it all cold and alone on the floor! I think you brought a lot more to the reading than you know. ♥

Ooh, yay, thank you so much! Can I ask you, to make audiobooks, can I just resave the files that way in iTunes and post them that way myself? Is that helpful to people? I'm sort of new to podfic and still learning many things. <3
