ladiesbigbang podfics: Still Life (BSG) and Lunch and Other Obscenities (Star Trek)

After posting a lot of short porny podfics over the last few months (and with a few longer porny podfics in the works), I am very happy to present these two longer gen podfics about complicated friendships between lady space travelers as my entry for ladiesbigbang Round 2! Munditia's "Still Life" is a beautiful and moving retelling of Battlestar Galactica canon from the perspective of Anastasia Dualla, with a special focus on her relationship with Starbuck. Rheanna's "Lunch and Other Obscenities" is a very smart and funny story of how Uhura and Gaila overcome major cultural differences.

Thanks to the authors and artists for the chance to add my take on these wonderful works, with special thanks to yue_ix for creating new artwork as a cover for Still Life.

Thank you bb! You know, I think I stumbled on LaOO by searching for ladycentric stories at the AO3, and it took me a while to realize it was a fandom classic that everybody but me had read it already, but that realization has made me very happy.

Have now listened to LaOO and it's WONDERFUL. You really nail Zoe's intonations as Nyota and I love the rappor between her and Gaila. Your Spock was wonderful and the whole thing was completely delightful. <3

Eeee, you did make my BSG story into a podfic, and it's right up there with an audioversion of one of my favourite ST fanfics ever! Thank you ever so much for this! Yay, I'm so happy to know this! When I first realized that L&OO was not quite long enough to meet the requirements for ladiesbigbang I was a little disappointed but then I realized it was a good excuse to put several podfics together in a project, and once I started thinking about Uhura and Dee and what they both mean in sci fi and in fandom I was just thrilled to have these two fics to work with. :)

LaOO is so wonderfully done. The way your Nyota voice warms when talking about Gaila from beginning to end is great. The art gallery scene is my absolute favorite. I've definitely used this podfic to try and drag a past (fandom-adjacent) roommate fully into fandom.
