Firefly fic recs

Sure. I still want to watch the commentary tracks but if I don't get through them this weekend I can probably watch with M at her place. (She refuses to lend out her DVDs because the one time she did her mom held onto them for four months.) And I should really get my own copy anyway.

I actually don't read lots of Firefly, you know? But, I can say: I'd have recced baylorsr's, but someone already did. I also read angstslashhope's, which can be found at hopeful_fiction. _jamjar has some at _jamjarfic.

That's pretty much it.

"Objects in Space" is my second favourite episode. "Out of Gas" was my first. How about yours?

Ahah, I was hoping to hear from you on this. Claudia mentioned Hope in an e-mail but I hadn't gone to check hers out yet, and Jamjar I wasn't aware of. Thank you for the links!

I think "Our Mrs. Reynolds" and "Out of Gas" are my favorites. I was really surprised at how much I liked "Objects in Space" though, because for the whole rest of the series I hadn't been liking any focus on Simon and River.

Do you know the lotrips author oneangrykate? She has two short ficlets set in the Firefly verse, with Elijah in the River role, Dom as Mal, etc.

Well, I think I've only read one of the things she's written, so that might be why. The one I read was something of a crossover, but there's definitely nothing wrong with that.

And no, I hadn't known of oneangrykate's ficlets, so I might just have to check them out. *bookmarks*

"Our Mrs. Reynolds" was also incredible, and I was fond of "Shindig" and "Trash", though my favourites are the ones I mentioned before.As for characters... you know, I couldn't just pick one to love above the others. How about you? (This is different from, say, Buffy, another of Whedon's shows, as I was all about Buffy, Willow, and Xander.)

I just love this show, really. There should have been more. I wasn't able to see Serenity when it came out, so I'm waiting for it to show up on DVD so I can see it at last (there wasn't a place showing it within my area, you see).

Actually, it looks like Mary's only posted that one, so don't feel bad.

Let's see, for characters, I was saying at first that I liked everyone except River and Simon. And then "Objects in Space" made me like River and Simon. (And strangely enough, despite my general frustration with Simon, Jayne/Simon is a pairing that interests me, so I'm looking forward to seeing what Hope's done with it.) So my affections are pretty well spread around, but Kaylee and Mal may be the ones I love best.

(And on Buffy I was all about Willow and also Spike, although not together, except in that one episode where Spike tried to bite Willow and couldn't, which was pretty awesome. I also liked Oz and Xander and Tara a lot.)

I'm sorry you missed Serenity! I got to see it the first night. I hadn't seen the show before, but some of the people I saw it with were big fans, so I got to share in their enthusiasm and that added to the excitement of seeing the movie.
