almostnever's "An Unexpected Governess" parts 1, 2, and 3, hopefully the beginning of a very long novel based on oneangrykate's response to a prompt in the title meme, here. Elijah disguised as young lady to support his family as a governess at the Monaghan estate. Corsets omg.

An old, unfinished, achy high school wing!fic by undone27/intercursus (rereading this one, actually), "Ptera" parts 1 and 2.

Hobbits!

An old fic by danachan, Upon a Field of Gold, a set of 26 drabbles of Merry's POV as Pippin recovers at Cormallen.

mariole's "Sweet Passion" parts 1 and 2, F/S, F/M, and F/S/M, restores my faith in the hotness of hobbit/hobbit porn.

Old meta by people I don't know

From a couple years ago, sullensiren's very amusing list of the Unwritten Laws of Fanfiction. Not laws in the sense of things you should or shouldn't do, but in the sense of things that will happen, no matter what you do. My favorite is #5, the law of disproportionate feedback. (You have to scroll down a page because she's got a meme at the top.)

From last month, schemingreader's post On positive feedback (why it's a good thing and more effective than negative feedback for helping others become better writers) and in particular this thread and this comment about genuinely constructive and helpful ways of doing constructive criticism.

Happy Froday, everybody! The weekend's almost here, or is already here for some of us. I'm supposed to be working on a paper that I'm supposed to present tomorrow, and am procrastinating by putting together links. What are you folks up to?

It's fun coming across stuff like that, written before I'd found fanfic by somebody in a whole other fandom but so on the money as far as what I've run into.

Happy Froday to you, too! Thank you for the nice mention of "Sweet Passion". Heh. I believe my hobbit smut should involve as much sex as possible. I think eventually I shall have to write one that is nothing but nonstop orgasms from beginning to end. *waits eagerly for the next challenge*

Man, the fic is not really even all that long, and there are like 20 orgasms in it, not to mention all that wanton, writhing Frodo in between. Nnnnnnngh.
