Amazing healing power of fanfic

Yesterday afternoon I was feeling a little sad, and somehow even all the gorgeous pics of a certain young man in a bright yellow t-shirt weren't doing much to cheer me up. I considered writing a whiny, cryptic post to elicit virtual hugs from my f-list, but I confined myself to whining a little at [livejournal.com profile] claudia603 and then went home and read [livejournal.com profile] shirebound's Sing Me Home, and had a good, satisfying cry. I've been feeling much, much better since then.

Yea, Janet! The Lord of the Rings now has a heartbreakingly beautiful happy ending in my mind, and she didn't even have to go AU! How does she do this?! The woman's talent is staggering!

*celebrates*

ETA: The complete story (with fantastic epilogue, Frodo and Sam and Frodo's strong arms) is here.

You sweetie! Sometimes I'm still not sure I really wrote "Sing Me Home" -- it's as if it started to weave its own Music all by itself, and I just frantically typed and tried to keep up. I'm so so so happy it was a healing, happy read for you. I just *had* to give our hobbits a happy ending!

*hugs you very, very much*

Oh, and until I followed your link, I didn't realize that "West of the Moon" doesn't have the last chapter archived! If you want to read the VERY last chapter ("Reunion"), please go here:

Yay, glad the "whining" helped! :-) I know it does me as needed. It takes very little actually to bring me back "off crack" :-D I absolutely ♥ your candidness! :-)

oh no! For me candidness is actually a big compliment :-D I love when other people express what I am feeling so it doesn't make me look like the only person who ever feels it, lol! :-)

& hearts ; (but with no spaces) :-)

*hugs you*

'Whining' is good sometimes. Let things out. Good to hear you are feeling better now.

Think I need to reread Shirebounds story. I don't remember it very well.

*steps in and holds on tight*

It certainly has been and still is a emotional rollercoast. There's been much hapinnes but also some very sad things happening. It is good to know help and support is around.
