A while back I posted a link about woobies and you all had some great discussion while I was out, mostly about Merlin characters. Several people talked about how Gwen suffers as much as anyone but the show (and fandom) don't usually treat her pain as important. As zahrawithaz summarized,

Morgana's dead-daddy angst is [more] important than Gwen's far fresher loss; Merlin's angst over almost-killing Morgana is more important than hers over almost-dying.

And a bunch of us were saying, it's not that we need to read a whump fic where Gwen gets kidnapped and raped and tortured and then has a horrible angsty recovery process, but it would be nice to see other characters expressing concern and helping her through her canon suffering.

So! As a result of that discussion meri_sefket wrote a lovely short OT4 friendship fic from Gwen's POV.

And just tonight I came across another one on the kink meme, wonder what you are, which also has everybody caring about Gwen but then turns into some adorably in-character Gwen/Merlin.

Also also, goobalicious made a wonderful manip of what Gwen's bio ought to say. Alas, in real life SyFy just cut out the most offensive paragraph of what they'd had before, but it still feels good to know that fans made a difference there.
