Yesterday was the first check-in post at ladiesbigbang and I took the opportunity to drop out of my podficcing project. :( It makes me sad because I still want more podfics of my favorite lady-centric Merlin AUs to exist, but at the time I signed up I hadn’t realized how difficult recording was (for me), plus my summer’s turned out to be busier than I thought it would be. trascendenza, your comm is still awesome! woldy and shiegra, I will still be there for you (although less so in July)!

But also yesterday sign-ups went up for kink_bingo and I so cleverly enticed and impressed baranduin and hanarobi by showing them kink_wiki that I also got baranduin to sign up! Then today we convinced claudia603 to join in too! :D :D Yay, I’m so glad to have some old friends doing this with me. (No offense, kink_bingo kids, but a lot of you intimidate me! In a good way though! ♥ ♥)

such_heights, who participated last year, explains why she likes this challenge and I'm excited for a lot of the same reasons. Most of my fics are shippy but not explicit or kinky, but I like challenging myself and stretching my ideas of what I can do. Also, though such_heights doesn’t mention this, I think the game format will work well for me, as writing_game did for getting me to write lots of drabbles in lots of fandoms last year. I like the motivation of trying to get through the squares and the flexibility of choosing your route, without the pressure of a gift exchange. (writing_game put up a new game a few days ago, by the way! Check it out if you’re looking for some drabble prompts.)

Here is my card and some thoughts about what I could do!

The first bingo that jumped out at me was the horizontal line across the top. One of the podfics I was planning to do for ladiesbigbang was miakun’s Gwen/Morgana spanking fic and this would give me a new motivation to go through with that. Caged/confined made me think right away of Merlin/Aredian noncon but then I realized it could also be Merlin/Freya, Merlin/bounty hunter, Freya/bounty hunter, Arthur/Merlin, etc. (Merlin/Freya is probably my favorite new pairing from season 2 but I haven’t written any yet!) I’ve never given much thought to mirrors as a kink before, but I think it could be awesome! Maybe with a femslash pairing like Gwen/Morgana or Morgana/Morgause.

Then I was also looking at the vertical line going down from mirrors, because, tentacles! (The most obvious fandom is The Faculty but I’ve written that already, so, hm.) Also historical roleplay! (Could be a chance to go through with my old idea of Merlin/Morgana as Ren Faire geeks.)

I was complaining to baranduin that I was disappointed I didn’t get foot fetish, which of course would have been perfect for some Old School Interspecies (Frood/Farmer or Frood/Argon), but she reminded me that I can use the middle square for whatever I want. So that got me looking at the diagonal line from caged/confined to waxplay. Prostitution is also good for Interspecies (maybe I could go ahead and remix claudia603’s fic about Frodo the Bree harlot in order to assuage my anxiety of influence), I have a sekrit bodily secretions bunny for the middle square, several podfic ideas for tentacles, and waxplay, well, Camelot is full of candles! (Waxplay is also the June challenge over at kinkelot!) Bingo!

Then today I was looking at the vertical line through the middle: sleepy/unconscious could be Gwen/Morgana or any members of the Fellowship, and I think I could do something with animal play and the new Alice in Wonderland movie (possibly Alice/Absalom omg).

I notice myself shying away from the squares that have more to do with intense pain and/or genitals, and this is, idk, maybe something to examine and a place where I could push myself, but also maybe I can put that off and work on accomplishing a bingo (or heck, a single story) with more comfortable prompts first. :)

What do you think? I’d love to hear your ideas for fandoms and characters for any of these, but especially for bites/bruises, exposure/striptease, sensation play, and humiliation in public.

Besides Merlin and LotR I’ve been wanting to do some Doctor Who (like Amy/Eleven maybe). There’s always HP and The Faculty, or maybe some even smaller movie fandoms like Saving Face or Pan's Labyrinth. Hmm!

ETA: Some shows I've watched and enjoyed but haven't written: Leverage, Being Human, BSG...still catching up with Legend of the Seeker! /ETA

The big thing I should do, really, is to start writing right away while I'm this excited, rather than wait around thinking I'll have time and inspiration in August. (Though there is the part where I'm staying home from a fun party tonight in order to do homework.) Where do you think I should start?
