LJ/Dreamwidth stuff
Hey so I unfriended a bunch of people on LJ tonight - but not because I don't want to be friends! In most cases it was just because we communicate on Dreamwidth already and I thought I'd cut out the duplication, and for a few LJ-only folks it was because we haven't interacted in a few years. If you want me to add you back for whatever reason just let me know!
I felt like putting more of my reading list on the Dreamwidth side and I thought, since some of the comms I follow on LJ are all public entries anyway, that I would watch them on Dreamwidth via feed instead of on my LJ flist. So I set up
merlinpodfic_feed and
merlin_holidays_feed (and earlier this year,
summerpornathon_feed). I don't really understand feeds but hey why not. :) Here's some code
sally_maria gave me a while back; you put it in the Custom CSS page and it keeps feeds from taking over your whole reading list with uncut entries:
rydra_wong is hosting a Giant Community Rec-O-Matic! to help people find Dreamwidth comms relevant to their interests, and
yue_ix reposted her Accidental dreamwidth comms reccing, which includes a lot of Merlin comms among others.
anatsuno has been posting about Inception comms and activity on Dreamwidth. Try her DW tag if you are interested in that.
If you are crossposting, especially if you have comments open on both sites, it is really helpful to include the links between them! You do this at the Other Sites Settings page: check "Display Crosspost Link" to get the LJ (and/or IJ) link to display on the Dreamwidth post, and edit the Footer to display the Dreamwidth link on the LJ post. You guys, if you're crossposting without these links you don't know how much easier life will become once you add them!

Ah! Life-saving! I vaguely remember seeing you mention this and had to track it down. Thank you!
