My goodness did I spend a lot of time lurking on anatsuno's masterlist for this series and reading this and other sex scenes over and over back in the day. There were so many kinks that I hadn't been aware of before I read then, and even afterwards I continued to think of them as things anat and Ces had come up with because I still didn't understand that people would do them in real life (or write about them in other fandoms.). I felt so distant from the authors at the time since I wasn't an rpf writer myself, but it's been neat staying in touch with them through their different fandoms through the years, and getting to know anat a lot better through Twitter and podfic fandom.

Last year when I was working on a "Size Matters" bingo (fanworks of over 5000 words or the equivalent) I thought about podficcing another Trip Me scene but I ended up going for something a little more straightforwardly ficcish and therefore easier to read out loud. The thing about this series is it was written as an RPG and the POV switches between the main characters every paragraph or two, so that takes a little while to get used to but then you get used to it and it's awesome.

I am much pleased to use this for my "begging" square this round - there were nice porny things of less than 1000 words that I could have podficced much more easily, but I love the idea of Elijah having to beg without words because his mouth is full (and I realized as I was recording it that I probably unconsciously borrowed that idea from this for a certain Gwen/Morgana fic I wrote).

I do feel self-conscious, not so much for the porny stuff but for the silly playful bits at the start, which somehow feel more intimate. It makes sense that it would be like that, with me jumping in and recording a snippet from the middle of a series and all. But I think it should be fun to listen to even if you're not familiar with the story, which is basically that these two actors are in love and are both switches and have lots of kinky sex together. Anyway, I am pleased with the second half or so of this podfic, which I think has really beautiful language read well.

And even though podfics are not for authors, I really hope that anatsuno likes it. (No rush though!)

qkdjhgjdqsfhgsjfdhgdgh. I swore I would do some of my own podfic work before I start listening to this, but you have no idea how excited I am. The very first time someone podfics a thing wot I wroted! Also, trepidations bc I am not sure I can listen to it without cringing at my own words. qsdjnfksdfjhg. :D :D :D

Ahhh it is super nice when you can stop feeling self-conscious about your own writing and just enjoy it. Whee, I'm so glad I made this! Hope it works out to do another piece someday.

Lotrips have a special place in my heart, it's one of the few fandoms where I was into both the fic and the canon. I don't remember reading this series though but even taken out of its larger context this was a great story and I really enjoyed the podfic.
