Well, back to work today, and the first day of classes at my university. It is very hot outside and in my apartment, but hopefully the school buildings will have air conditioning. I have two classes today, one of which lasts from 6:10 to 9:30 P.M. Wish me luck!

In case you missed it, here's a link to the new HP fic I posted on Sunday: Let No One Put Asunder. It's a little over 4000 words, takes place seven years after the end of the books, and centers on Parvati Patil.

I want to rec a Firefly/Serenity fic from the [livejournal.com profile] choc_fic fest, Pro Bono by [livejournal.com profile] puritybrown, which went up on Saturday. It's NC-17 Zoe/Inara that takes place some time after the movie. Both of them are wonderfully in character and it's really very moving and at the same time crazy hot.

Also, I just read a great gen fic about Dean Thomas learning to paint magical portraits, Fra Pandolf's Hands by [livejournal.com profile] a_t_rain. It has an interesting plot and some really neat ideas about how magic works besides being a beautiful look at the character.

Yay fic! I am glad you were able to post your fic for the comm (and I'm sorry that I could not be more help). I am looking forward to reading it (and some others too). But first off, after comment replies anyhow, I get to go and soak my foot (and my possibly broken toe ow!).

Last night I kicked something in my room, in the mostly dark, and it is bad and gross to look at, and very painful. Possibly my toe is broken – it is bruised and swollen, anyhow – and it has been hurting all day. Now I will go and soak it in some nice warm water! And hopefully it will feel better.

Yeah, I didn't get home until around 10:15. Not such a big deal now but it sure will be in September. Also the class turned out not to be so good, so I'm going to drop it. :/
