Did you catch Bill O'Reilly on Thursday night's Daily Show? You can watch the whole show here or here but I was especially impressed with the second half of the interview. I mean, it's disturbing how amused Bill is over his own joke about Jon Stewart getting killed (WTF!?), but watch it for what Jon says about American traditions. Oh man I ♥ him so much.

I saw that show, and had the same reaction you did. It's astounding to me that someone like Bill walks around thinking Americans would so casually murder someone just because they have a different opinion on how to solve the country's problems. I wonder if Bill really believes it--which would be a tragedy-- or if a lot of people actually _are_ that violent-- which would be appalling.

I like to think talking heads like Bill are drumming it up for their own benefit. I don't think we are _such_ a violent society, although we certainly have that minority.

And then he keeps grinning and laughing about it! Like he thinks he's just so cute and he and Jon can pal around about this kind of thing. It reminds me of when his way of defending Michelle Obama was to say that she shouldn't be lynched, UNLESS it turned out she really was anti-American. What an asshole.

I almost didn't watch this because I detest Bill O so much. But I appreciate how Jon was demonstrating his intention to "reach across the aisle" and try to bring even the most hateful and paranoid Americans back into the fold. I thought it a noble effort, but it's a shame we have that hateful element.

I had the same reaction that you did - as much as I can't STAND to watch O'Reilly I really wanted to see Jon interview him and I wasn't disappointed. Between O'Reilly calling the little teddy bear a PANDA (STUPID) and then so casually talking about people in the south stoning/killing someone from NYC - he thinks he's so glib and funny and he's just DISGUSTING.

LOVED when Jon talked about traditions - and I still think that Jon as a comedian does better interviews with people than reporters do. I ♥ him SO MUCH.

STUPID AND GLIB AND DISGUSTING, yes, that's it exactly. And what is with this bashing of cities, anyway? Is it a racial/religious thing or is there just something un-American about people living close to each other? WTF, Papa Bear?

But Jon is a love. Whenever he gets angry like that he makes me feel all proud and patriotic and horny.
