So um hello! I am behind answering comments on some recent posts. I am behind on my Remix which is due OMG SUNDAY. I got upset about a Merlin fandom kerfuffle and then some stressful job stuff came up. The posting every day thing has not worked out, but here, HAVE A MEME.

miakun made this! I love Mia's icons. For a long time my only Merlin icon was one of him looking really uncertain, which was great for commenting on firsttimes and Merlin/Uther fics but didn't always seem appropriate. I like this icon because Merlin looks so dorky and pretty at the same time, and the light and colors are so nice, and because the context of the scene it's from tells me that Merlin approves of other pairings besides A/M. :D I've written a couple fics where Merlin helps out with Arthur and Gwen's love life and I always picture him smiling at them just like this.

baranduin made this from a John William Waterhouse painting and posted it with a bunch of other Pre-Raphaelite images. I always feel a little bit vain when I say part of the reason I like it is that the girl on the left looks somewhat like me (or like I used to look before I cut my hair), but

shirebound has mentioned the same thing and Baranduin said she was thinking of me when she made it, so there. I use this as my non-jokey femslash icon and female friendship icon.

I love this icon because it's from one of those rare moments in season two where Morgana's smiling. I mean, it's from this wonderful point where she's with Aglain and she's really grateful to him and hopeful about her future, so it makes me think of Morgana's happiness that could have been. I like the first half of that episode so much that I've written three or four AUs of it lol. Anyway, I usually use this icon when saying thank you.

This is one of the Weeping Angels from the Doctor Who episode "Blink", which was awesome despite being a season 3 episode with very little Martha. One doesn't get the chance to have conversations about Weeping Angels very often (especially if one isn't actually in Doctor Who fandom), so the recent episodes where they returned were exciting in themselves but also because they gave me a chance to use this. Mostly it's my "OMG AVOIDING SPOILERS PLEASE DON'T GIVE ANYTHING AWAY" icon, so I used it a lot when I was watching Battlestar Galactica – I loved the show but was afraid to go out looking for BSG icons for fear of what they'd show me.

I'm embarrassed to say I don't know where this image comes from. I found it on Google Images years ago and cropped it, and I think it was my first non-fandom icon. I like it because it's versatile and pretty – I can't remember if this or the lotus one that I kept as my only non-fandom icon when I downgraded to a free LJ account and only had six icons for some months.

I didn't really get into Harry Potter until 2006 or so, but when I watched the first movie Hermione's academic seriousness was my favorite part. I totally identified with that part where you raise your hand and the teacher calls on someone else. I ought to use this icon more often than I do.

Simply said, I went to find an icon of the Weeping Angel icon, found your page and got it.
