Are you sick of my kink-bingo squee yet?
Let's take another look at my
kink_bingo card, shall we?

At this point I've done tentacles, bondage, and spanking, none of which are in a line. :( I started out thinking I'd do the diagonal line from the top left, but all I've got of that so far is tentacles, and I wrote like 200 words to start out a fic that could work for the free square. Not much!
I had planned to write a remix of
claudia603's classic Bree Games for the prostitution square. Easy, right? I love Claudia's fic, I love remixing, and I love slutty Frodo. So I went to reread it this week, and man, I had a ball. I don't know when you wrote this, Claudia, 2003 or 2004? But I'm just blown away by how you laughed in the face of every taboo. I don't know, the last couple years I've gotten to think of hobbit fandom as pretty conservative, but then I read something like this, or even just rereading some of my own old stuff (looking for podfic material) I remember how much fun we had and how popular some of those really outrageous trashfics were.
But anyway, I was like a third of the way through Bree Games and I got to the scene where Frodo's wearing just a cloak with nothing underneath and then the two ruffians tear it off and have their way with him, and I looked at my card again, and there's exposure/striptease and double penetration in the same vertical line with prostitution. (Also later in the fic there's public humiliation, situational humiliation, confinement, bruises, whipping and a bunch of other stuff, but those aren't in the same line). So that's three, and the other two squares from that line are genital torture and watersports. Well, those aren't in Claudia's fic but I don't think it would be too hard to work them into a remix. I mean, just add another client or two, right? Maybe in place of the scene where one of them beats Frodo up.
I was wondering if I'd be able to make it interesting as a remix because I'd still want to keep Frodo's POV, and in some ways our writing styles are pretty similar (remember when I wrote an exchange fic for
gentlehobbit and she guessed it was by you?) but I think I've come up with an angle I could work with...and I'll be quiet about that for now.
But putting five kinks in one piece is a single line extra, which would have to come after I manage a plain old bingo with five different ones, and right now, eh. Not feeling excited about waxplay or even cages, idek. Maybe if I thought about dungeons/prisons instead. *ponders hobbits, sorcerers, and Time Lords*
Tonight I recorded a podfic with crossdressing (still need to edit), and last night I picked out an old fic of mine which...well, it's too bad I don't have the uniforms/military fetish square, but I think I can make it work for teasing. So maybe I could do the vertical line on the left.
I think have a pretty solid bunny for a fic with mirrors, though I don't think I'd be able to get around to reviewing the canon until August, but maybe a vertical or horizontal line from there could work too. I just don't know.
I managed to convince my songwriter friend
gamerchick to sign up for
kink_bingo by telling her all formats were allowed, and then this weekend I looked more closely at the rules and saw that they didn't list songs as a way of filling squares. I asked about it though and the mods said it's cool, so yay! So
gamerchick is planning to fill most of her line with songs, but in appreciation of the openness of the challenge she also wants to push herself to write a fanfic for the first time since she was a teenager.
And I was thinking that I too ought to push myself to try to write a song. I don't know, I don't have any ideas and it's been a really long time since I've done that, and even when I was writing a lot of songs I was never comfortable sharing them with people, and besides the composition I'd have to decide whether I was comfortable sharing my singing voice and crappy guitar skilz with the big wide Internet. On the other hand, I never used to share my fiction with anybody before I got into fandom, and I certainly didn't think I'd be making recordings of myself reading porn out loud, so who knows. It could be fun just to try.
So last night I got out my guitar for the first time in a few years and tuned it. I didn't try making anything up but I got out my Rise Up Singing songbook and spent a nice forty minutes or so just singing to myself and strumming. I'm surprised and pleased that after a quick review I could remember most of the chords I used to know. I also found out I'm still decent at transposing all the songs in the book into G so that I can get by with less bar chords. *g* I've got that funny numbness in the fingertips of my left hand today from pressing down on the strings. I guess it's pretty late now and I don't want to disturb the people who live downstairs, but maybe I'll give it another try tomorrow.
So yeah, I'll probably have another podfic or two to post this week, but after that I'll be traveling for a while and probably won't be doing a lot of public or fannish posts until sometime in August, though I do hope to get some writing done on my own.
I'm working on trying things I haven't done before, both in terms of formats and in terms of kinks, and this is exciting but also scary, even if I try to act casual about it. :) Some of my fills will have noncon. I get that most of my friends don't like noncon, so thank goodness we have headings and warnings to help us get around these differences. Also, some of the kinks on my card are things I'm into reading already and some of them...well, I'll try to learn to like them and understand the appeal. So I'd appreciate it if folks would not comment on those posts to say they don't like the thing that I've warned for in the heading. I haven't gotten any comments like that in a while but I have in the past and I've seen them recently on some friends' journals, and I find them hard to deal with. They can make the author/creator and other people who enjoyed the work feel judged for liking what they like, whether it's a fantasy in a fic or something that's part of their sexuality in real life. So, don't do that please! Thank you! ♥

IJWTS, it is possible to buy the Rise Up Singing CDs, for when a person is unclear about the tune, though they mostly end after the first verse and chorus. My brother and I gave the whole set of them to my mom for her 70th birthday. So if there are any songs you need the tunes for, let me know.

I have heard about the Rise Up Singing CDs. I like that idea but for now I'm good sticking with the songs I know already. Maybe after I get a real job I'll buy them though. :)

Yay! Vertical line on the left is definitely coming into view. I found another fic of mine that I can podfic for washing (started to write it this afternoon and then found out I already had lol), and then I just need to figure out what to do for body alteration/injury.
Maybe Mulder could work for that omg! I loved that episode where they cut off his arms! Who (if anyone) are you pairing him with??
