I have to start out with the embarrassing fact that I came to the books after the movies, because otherwise some of my answers don't make sense.

03. The character everyone else loves that I don't: Ahem, don't tell Dana, but I love Pippin less than most people do
04. The character I love that everyone else hates: Movie!Faramir
05. The character I used to love but don't any longer: Sam (I still love him but not as much as I did)
06. The character I would shag anytime: Frodo (especially if I were hobbit-sized)
07. The character I'd want to be like: Frodo
08. The character I'd slap: Bilbo (stealing that answer from you, but it really makes sense)

That's pretty much true of me too. I figured I'd say "a hobbit" because if it's Merry/Pippin I tend to think, "Ah, that's nice," but probably pass on reading it. But if there's no Frodo and no Merry or Pippin, I just think, "What's the point?"

I read a more varied selection than some might think, actually -- and the best way to get me interested in something is to have Frodo, Merry, or Pippin in it. Really have cut down on Frodo/Sam, though, but that's due to really pushy fen who think that their interpretation is the One True Law; and, really, just because something is Merry/Pippin, that doesn't mean I'll like it. I, uh, am picky when it comes to quality.

Well (and this will probably get me killed, hah) I am really not that fond of Frodo, some/most of the times (it's even worse with Sam, actually, but I try not to think about it -- and, just as Frodo, it isn't that I don't like him. But...). And it isn't that I don't like Frodo still -- because I do. And when I fell into fandom, he was my first love. But I have changed an awful lot since then, and so has my appreciation of Frodo. That hasn't stopped me from writing him, though, and I do love him interacting with Merry and Pippin (which, you know, you might have noticed).

That is a bad thing to admit, I think, in our fandom. *laughs*

So, like, I think what this means is that we're allowed to like who we want to like, and if you happen to dislike someone that someone else adores -- well, that's really all right, too.

Not that I think you don't know that, but there are things that really don't hurt when they get repeated.

The character I love that everyone else hates: Movie!Faramir

Hey! I LOVE Faramir. Both the movie and the book version. AND the fics that have him paired with Frodo.

He's a very tragic character IMO and I was so happy when he found his Eowyn

Ah, yes. I know there are other Faramir fans, but some people who've been into the books for a long time get really upset about the changes that were made. I remember one of the girls I saw TTT with in the theater. Someone asked her how the book was different and she said, "Faramir wasn't an asshole in the book." I love both versions as well.

Okay, I of course was going to be predictable and say LOTR, but someone else already did...

How's 'bout Brokeback Mountain? :-) Of course it will be practically meaningless to me since I haven't seen the movie...hehehe.

Brokeback Mountain is tricky seeing as how there's no Fellowship, it's almost all about just the two of them (hot hot hot!), but I'll give it a try.

07. The character I'd want to be like: Goodness. That's tough. I did find that Alma, Jr. reminded me a little of myself. Partly just the hair, whatever, but she loves her father and that's something.
08. The character I'd slap: Jack's father-in-law
09. A pairing that I love: Jack/Ennis (duh)
10. A pairing that I despise: Jack/that other guy in Texas (*cries*)

That was fun. I also made baranduin do this one. I love Ennis slightly less than she does, but I won't use him for #3 because I still do love him.

03. The character everyone else loves that I don't: I don't know if he's especially well loved, but I don't get Stan at all.
04. The character I love that everyone else hates: And people don't hate her, but I love Stokely and feel that she is often neglected in fic.
05. The character I used to love but don't any longer: Can't think of one of these.
06. The character I would shag anytime: Zeke? Casey? *confused*
07. The character I'd want to be like: Casey during the actual alien attack. Not before and certainly not after (kissing Delilah wtf), but the Casey who causes Delilah to say, "When did you turn into Sigourney Weaver?

I don't quite get Stan either. I dont esp dislike him, and I guess he's good for Stokes, but yes - I dont really get him.

I basically do not like it if Casey is paired off with anybody other than Zeke, not only Delilah.

And the character I would like to shag? Zeke, anytime ;DD

I can handle other Casey pairings as long as they're treated as transitory and it's clear that Casey and Zeke are the ones who are destined to be together. Last time I watched the movie my friend and I were yelling at the TV during that horrible Casey/Delilah kiss at the end, and she's not even into slash (and doesn't know I am).

I don't find Stan attractive at all, and Stokes is totally gorgeous and also smart so I don't get why she's into him. Could it really be because of the football thing? Stokes doesn't really seem like the kind of person to care about that kind of thing, but there I go with my stereotypes.
