Today’s the last day to offer prompts at lgbtfest and claiming starts tomorrow. I put in a bunch of Merlin prompts and one Monty Python one last night and I saw an angsty Merlin one this morning that I’m thinking about picking up. Whee! Prompt submission post. ETA: leaving prompts does not obligate you to write for the fest. You can also claim a prompt and write a story even if you haven't left any. I’m feeling weird about me and my fannish involvements and obligations lately, and how to balance them with obligations in other part of my life. I’ve been a slacker-mod at lotr_fic_recs and remixthedrabble, and I dropped out of a fic exchange for the first time. :( On the other hand, I’m proud of myself for getting most of my writing for purimgifts finished over the weekend. Those ficlets are due tomorrow and I need to write a bit more before then, plus I have a really terrifying amount of rl work to do over the next few days (and, for that matter, months), so if you miss me (and wonder why I’m not fixing the mpreg links my own damn self) that’s probably what’s going on. ♥ ♥ ♥

At least I feel good that I've been honest with my co-mods in the last few days. :) We're talking about holding off the next round of remixthedrabble until April or May and at that point we will have tons and tons of Merlin fics to play with. The mods at springtime_gen were really understanding when I dropped out and roga over at purimgifts is facing some serious uni stress herself at the moment so she totally gets it. Fandom is great, really. People in fandom are great. *hugs*

I am going to see what I can do about helping with the mpreg stuff!! Surely lilybaggins can be of some assistance, too! :D

This is the Merlin prompt I kinda wanna do, from here:

Merlin, Arthur/Merlin, Coming out as magic would put Merlin on the pyre. Coming out as gay wouldn't get him any punishment from the king himself, but in a town near Ealdor there were two men who lived together and were very close, and all he can remember when he wants to say something to Arthur is seeing what was left of them hanging from a tree when he went to visit his mother's cousins.

What do you think? What I'm thinking about is Arthur being so spoiled that it never occurs to him that he'd have to suffer consequences for having sex with whoever he wants, and so this huge disconnect between the two of them even though (obviously!) they both have feelings for each other. Awfully angsty though! And one would have to decide how much to go with the flexible "legendary" setting of the show and how much to pay attention to actual medieval history etc. Hmmm.
