I have FEELINGS about X-Men: First Class (which is a little weird because I don't think I've really had feelings about X-Men before. I think I saw the first two or three movies and liked them fine). I need to read CRITIQUES by other people who enjoyed its gayness but wanted it to have actual gay people and be less sexist and racist than it was. Where are the CRITIQUES PLEASE.

wish i could help you. i haven't even seen it yet, i've just watched everyone on my flist migrate over to that fandom and i thought it'd be my next fandom once i got around to watching the movie. let me know when you do find those critiques. sexist/racist? ARGH ARGH ARGH. on another only semi-related note, i was in the laundromat the other night and the guy who worked there was playing a bootlegged copy of the hangover 2 for everyone to watch, so i had to watch it even though i didn't want to. and my god, sometimes i forget how horribly racist/homophobic/sexist mainstream america is. i wanted to punch somebody. but it made me do the laundry super fast just so i could get out of there. okay i'll stop rambling on your page and go to bed now.

I think that as a fandom it would probably be fine? Possibly a very pleasant and kinky one once you got away from the kink-shaming mod of that other kink meme as long as you like slash about two white dudes. Which, dude, I do! Slash is awesome and I have been a James McAvoy fan for ages and I'm not even telling my girlfriend how hot I was for him in this movie, and I don't really care for the other guy but I can see how someone would.

But damn! *shakes fist at lost potential*

I'm pretty sure rubynye was talking about it at some point recently! I haven't seen it myself and probably won't. I don't have much X-men interest....

I don't have much of an X-Men interest either but it is pretty great in some respects! Very character driven and a lot about relationships and how the characters choose sides (plus James McAvoy is hot)!
