Purimgifts!

Dear [community profile] purimgifts writer/graphics person!

Thank you for signing up with one or more of my fandoms! I hope you will find I'm easy to write for. I love gen and ships of all kinds. I said I'd take a maximum rating of Explicit and I've been on kind of a porny streak in my journal lately, but I really am a big fan of friendship stories and character pieces too. I like happy stories and sad stories, h/c, kink, and stories about identity, community, and belief. For the most part I do not like torture in interrogation scenes or cheating in relationships.

I had a really good time with this challenge in 2008 and 2009 and I'm excited about coming back to it. This year I requested only fandoms where I like pretty much all the characters, so even though I'm listing some of my favorites under the cut, I'd be really happy to read about or look at any of the others too. All these fandoms have ladies and a few also have Jewish characters, though in most cases that isn't really developed so there's a lot of room for you to do more, if that's where your interest lies. I'd also be really interested in bringing out Jewish themes or parallels to the Esther story in shows like Merlin or BSG, or casting say Long Feng from Avatar as an evil vizier. Also do whatever you'd like with the pictures!

TV shows

* Merlin (BBC)
This has been my main fandom for the last two years or so and I read and write about its ladies often! Besides Gwen and Morgana I'm especially fond of Hunith, Freya, and Elena.

* Being Human (BBC)
They are all awesome! I'm watching season three now (usually within a few days after the episode airs) so feel free to reference new stuff if you're also watching.

* Doctor Who (2005)
I love all the ladies from new Who! I have also watched Torchwood but not SJA or classic Who, and I'm not a big fan of the Christmas specials.

* Treme
LaDonna is my favorite, but I love all the other women on this show too! (My secret OTP is Jacques/Jannette.)

* Battlestar Galactica (2003)
Anything you want to do. Go for it. I am fascinated by all these characters. (Also, although I'm not Jewish, I used to visit a synagogue with a rabbi who reminded me a lot of Laura!)

* Avatar: The Last Airbender
I just finished watching this on February 2nd! I'm brand new to the fandom and very excited. The relationship that interests me most (whether as gen or femslash or something else) is between Katara and Toph. Katara is the character I identify with the most but never more so than when she's irrationally angry. I really love the way Toph gets under her skin and would love to read more about the two of them. I also love Azula and Mai. Since Zuko is my favorite of the boys I'd also be interested in a story about his mother or his relationship with Azula (and wouldn't say no to some Mai/Zuko or Katara/Zuko).

Movies:
* Keeping the Faith (2000)
Among other things I would really love to know more about Anna and her spiritual journey during the course of the movie - all the development we miss for the sake of the surprise ending. Anna/Jake or OT3 friendship would be great but I'm also really interested in the inter-generational friendships between Anna and Ruth and between Jake and Rabbi Lewis (and also between Brian and Father Havel, but I guess that wouldn't really be appropriate for this fest). I would rather not get a story about Brian and Jake that excludes Anna, or any breaking of priestly or marital vows. I wrote more about this in my 2009 Dear Yuletide Writer letter.

* Saved! (2004)
Some Cassandra/Roland would be my favorite thing - especially taking things into the future and with more attention to her Jewishness than the movie gives us.

* West Side Story (1961)
Anita is my favorite, but I also love MarĂa and would love to know more about Anybodys.

* Princess and the Frog (2009)
Tiana!!! And her mom! And Lottie! Yay! I made a short post about this movie after I saw it.
