You guys, I am so happy with what I've gotten for Purimgifts! Three Avatar ficlets and three graphics with so many of my favorite things, including both thoughtful character-focused genfic and an explicit kinky threesome!

Here are a few other fics I've enjoyed:

-The Jewish!Lestrade series - Sherlock (BBC): Sherlock/Lestrade with Jewish!Lestrade! Smart and funny and nicely achy in parts.

-Ten to One, part 1, part 2, and part 3 - Doctor Who: the Doctor/Queen Elizabeth I with Liz Ten! So clever and fun but also with some angst! I love the character voices in this.

-Tickle Me Ink - Harry Potter: Hermione/Luna with writing on the body.

There are also about a hundred other fandoms, with a few more fics going up soon! Please post recs if you got 'em. I've had some trouble navigating the collection on the AO3 so I'd really appreciate extra pointers.

Speaking of cool collections on the AO3, a friend recently pointed out hetnotstraight and I was happy because I was able to add several stories that fit, that is, het fics where at least one of the characters is not straight. I have also bookmarked a few to read.

havocthecat is thinking about running a multifandom femslash challenge, either mini-big bang or a remix! What would I like more than a femslash remix? Not very many things! I told her that I have already twice remixed non-femslash fics into femslash remixes, I've needed this so much in my life. Go vote for the remix in the poll at girlgay and give her your thoughts!

That was me trying to trick my Fringe fan friends into thinking I had something interesting to say about their show. Did it work?

Yay, purimgifts/purimgifts! I had a lot of fun participating in this exchange in 2008 and 2009 and maybe I can go back to it this year. It's a nice small commitment: three ficlets of between 300 and 1000 words each and three images that do not have to be fancy. Last night I was excitedly refreshing the signups summary at the AO3 to see what fandoms have been offered or requested. That page doesn't seem to be working this morning, but it is still exciting. Signups are open through February 5.

Speaking of female characters, if you've been hankering for some dubcon femslash since watching the third season of Merlin, check out The Future Is Not Told at merlinfemfest, Gwen-centric Gwen/Morgana/Morgause.

If you want some happier Merlin femslash, the Bewitched AU It's Magic (Never Believe It's Not So) is completely delightful (and also Gwen-centric) with bonus magic!sex.

There's also been some great art posted at the fest, most recently the lovely and intimate Beginnings.

Hello, springtime_gen and purimgifts writers! I'm sorry for being a little late to post. I've been freaking out a little about having signed up for two challenging challenges at the same time and I had to run away for a bit. I am really looking forward to seeing what you come up with though, and I hope you're feeling good about the assignment you got.

Harry Potter person: You will have noticed that this is not my main fandom. In fact, this is the first time I've signed up specifically for an HP challenge, though I've ended up writing it a couple times in multifandom challenges. I find HP fandom kind of intimidating just because it's so huge, but I figured this could be a good chance to be a little more social in it. I don't think I have much to add to what I said in my request. I like girls (but also boys). I like fairly realistic fic (but also magic). I like different perspectives on the events of canon (but also Harry's perspective). I am pretty easy, really!

Purimgifts person: I had a great time with this challenge last year and I'm excited about doing it again. I requested a bunch of fandoms so I have a lot of things to say, though obviously optional details are optional… ( favorite characters and such )
