I don't think I'll be online much for the next couple days because I've got some computer trouble, some wrist pain, some family stuff, and some good books to read.

Before I go though I want to point to my now-revealed remix fic, Steps on the Slow Path (The Brokedown Dancebeat Remix). The original is Things Are Broken by my new friend

aralias, whom I met through the last round of

remixthedrabble. Both stories are Doctor Who, gennish with a bit of Doctor/Reinette and Doctor/Rose. I was amused that Aralias herself said she'd been pleased with her story until she realized a bunch of other people had already written Doctor/Reinette, and then someone recced my remix saying, "I have a soft spot for Girl in the Fireplace AUs in which the Doctor is forced to stay in France and needs to live out a century or two before managing to hitch a ride back to the TARDIS, Rose and Mickey…" I mean, I knew other people had done the pairing before but I didn't realize this exact scenario was that common. Anyway, it was great fun to do something new (for me lol) and reciprocate for Aralias having remixed me at rtd. Thanks to

slightlytookish for your help with the fic and to Claudia for listening to me as always, even though you don't know the fandom. :)

Oooh, and I just found out that Aralias wrote Fairytale Romance (The Happy Endings Remix), a remix of my even newer friend

woldy's fic with Merlin OT4 and angst and legend and history and, yes, a happy ending (sort of)! Cool!

I also want to point you to the one LotR fic in the fest, Ash and Smoke (Retrospective Remix) by

isiscolo, which is Denethor-centric and a bit meta with a lovely intimate tone that I really enjoyed. (It's not hobbity but it's also not HASA-y, if you know what I mean. It reminded me a little of some of

baranduin's fic.)
