sophinisba: Morgana and Gwen, text: Shh! Nobody knows we're Lesbians (morgana gwen lesbians by hyel)
Looket you guys! [personal profile] eruthros made me a banner for my Gwen/Morgana story Be So Bold because it won an Arbitrary Mod Prize at [community profile] kink_bingo!

A banner with the words 'be so bold by sophinisba' across a waterfall; on one side of the banner, Morgana is pulling her shirt down over her shoulder; on the other side, Gwen is looking at her out of the corner of her eye. Gwen's shirt is from REI.

Later I need to put together the links to all the great stuff to do with that story but I don't seem to be up to it right now. But yay! Look, they are out hiking! And look at Gwen's little face! :D :D

I was a little sad that I didn't make my personal goal of finishing a blackout during the amnesty period, but I'm still really happy with how much I did do for that challenge. They'll be starting a new round soon (June 1st?) and I will sign up again! I don't expect to get as much done for it as I did my first time but I will try to go for at least a bingo during the scoring period and maybe I will do more too.

I have been busy offline recently and have fallen behind with the podficcing I was doing for [community profile] amplificathon, so it'll be fun to get back to that soon. I also think I'll have two big podfics going live at [ profile] podficbigbang in the next day or two!

[community profile] pod_together is a new comm for fic authors and podficcers to collaborate on a project that's written specifically so it can be read and recorded. I don't really think this challenge is for me but I hope a lot of people sign up and I'll look forward to listening to the results.

Someone asked me recently if there would be another round of [personal profile] camelotremix and I, um, didn't answer them. I had figured there wouldn't be because I don't really think there's that much interest. I definitely wouldn't be able to mod in the fall again, but the summer might work if people are interested. Are people interested?

[ profile] thelittlebang is now also [community profile] thelittlebang on Dreamwidth and opening a new round for big femslash fics and art! Yay )

[community profile] ladiesbigbang is also starting another round! Besides fic and art they allow podfics and lots of other things as the primary works. I think I will make a big podfic!!! (Maybe Merrily on High!!)

Now here is something I'm feeling indecisive about! Maybe you can help me decide whether to sign up for [ profile] summerpornathon. some pros and cons )

Hooray, the first of my [ profile] podficbigbang projects is up! Even if you are not into podfic, please take a look at the beautiful cover by [personal profile] lunatique! If you are into podfic, especially Merlin podfic, there are a lot of other goodies for you at the comm already.

Reader's notes I put some extra effort into editing in music and other sounds on this podfic, and since they were so much a part of the story I did not make a separate version without music this time.

Here are some links to things you have probably seen already if you are interested in these kinds of things! Oh well, I will feel better if I also have them here!

-Fanart: Guinevere of Rohan by [ profile] felix_aeternus!

-Make Something Good by [ profile] sweetestdrain, the Gwen-centric OT3 (Arthur/Gwen/Merlin) vid we've been waiting for! Oh my lovely thoughtful people with their significant looks! ♥!!

-All We Have, a beautiful Treme vid by [ profile] hersluck focusing on the show's main female characters. Also in comments heresluck linked to this article in The Nation, Katrina Is Not a Metaphor by Melissa Harris-Lacewell.

-Meta: Neoliberal Holmes, or, Everything I Know About Modern Life I Learned from Sherlock by [personal profile] magnetic_pole. I found this uncomfortable to read but very much worth reading through to the end.

-There's been some good discussion in the comments to [ profile] heather's post linking to some of these same things about how the issues Maggie's talking about with Sherlock come up in Merlin and some other shows.

-I haven't felt up to watching [ profile] sweetestdrain and [ profile] sisabet's new multifandom torture vid On the Prowl yet, but [personal profile] giandujakiss has an interesting post comparing it to Women's Work and talking about some related issues of the meanings of men's pain versus women's pain in our media - more relevant comments on the LJ side than Dreamwidth, last time I checked. (Remember a couple months ago when we were talking here about female woobies?)

-Oh heck, have an MP3: This Is a Rebel Song by SinĂ©ad O'Connor, from the LP Gospel Oak, 1997. It's not one of my favorite songs of hers but I've been listening to it and singing it a lot for the last couple days so I feel like sharing. cut for Feelings about Sherlock )

-The philosophy of squee by [ profile] cherrybina. I feel a little bit funny about linking to these things together because Maggie and the folks at Heather's post are all, "Let's problematize these shows we want to love!" and Bina's talking about Merlin fandom being her happy place. But I love what Bina's saying about there being room in fandom for us to find what I ourselves and our people. I love seeing her squee about how hot Arthur and Merlin are on my f-list and I also love seeing someone like Maggie or [ profile] zahrawithaz nail down just what that niggling feeling was when I was watching that last episode of Sherlock or Merlin or Doctor Who. (And also I'm with Bina about avoiding anon memes because eeep.)
